By enrolling in our services or using our website, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Policy.
As a licensed California driving school, we are legally required by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (“DMV”) to maintain certain Student records, including but not limited to:
Student permit information, including address;
Lesson and completion records;
Certificates of completion.
These records are maintained solely for DMV compliance and audit purposes and are made available to DMV inspectors upon lawful request.
a. Vendor System. We utilize DrivingSchoolSoftware.com (DanubeNet Inc., 1200 Rt 22 East, Suite 2000, Bridgewater, NJ 08807) to securely maintain Student records. This platform employs industry-standard encryption and complies with U.S. data protection requirements.
b. School Safeguards.
DMV-required physical records, if retained, are stored in locked cabinets with restricted staff access.
Digital records are encrypted and protected by multi-level security protocols.
Financial transactions are processed with banking-grade encryption standards.
We collect and use Student information, including name, address, telephone number, email address, permit information, and lesson history, for lawful business purposes as described below:
Compliance Purposes. To satisfy DMV requirements.
Instructional Purposes. To schedule and deliver lessons, issue certificates, and communicate essential service updates.
Internal Business Operations. To improve services, manage accounts, and maintain accurate records.
Marketing and Advertising.
We may use limited Student information — name, email, phone number, and zip code — for internal marketing purposes, including Google Ads campaigns, remarketing, service reminders, and promotional offers related to The Hills Driving School LLC.
This information is used solely by the School and is not sold or disclosed to unaffiliated third parties.
Opt-Out: Students may opt out of all marketing communications at any time by sending an email to Info@thehillsdriving.com with the message “Opt Out.” Upon receipt, the School will cease using the Student’s information for marketing purposes.
Digital Advertising (Non-Personal Data). The School may also use anonymized or aggregated information (such as cookies or device identifiers) to deliver targeted ads, including Google Ads, without linking to personally identifiable information.
We do not sell or trade Student personal information. Information may be disclosed only:
To the California DMV, as required by law;
To lawful authorities in response to valid legal process;
To DrivingSchoolSoftware.com solely for operational purposes;

Records required by the DMV will be retained for the duration mandated by California law. After expiration, records will be securely deleted or destroyed.
Students have the right to:

Opt out of marketing communications, as described above;
Request corrections to DMV-required records where legally authorized.
The School employs reasonable safeguards consistent with industry standards. However, no system is completely immune from unauthorized access. By enrolling, you acknowledge and agree that the School shall not be liable for any unauthorized access or disclosure of data outside of our reasonable control.
By providing personal information to The Hills Driving School LLC, you expressly consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as set forth in this Policy.
